What Are Medical Alert Service Dogs?

These types of service dogs help people with sensitive and life threatening medical conditions. We train the dogs to recognize the signs of distress and respond in various ways.

Medical Alert Service Dogs can be train for a variety of disabilities including Epilepsy, Syncope, P.O.T.S., Diabetic, or allergies such as shellfish, nuts, or latex.

Types of Medical Alert Dogs

Seizure Alert Dogs (Epilepsy)

These dogs are trained to recognize the physical indicators of a seizure and respond in various ways from triggering a medical alert device; alerting another family member; retrieving medications; or help draw you out of a seizure.

Diabetic Alert Dogs

Are trained to detect the odors typically associated with the chemical changes in the body reacting to high or low blood sugar levels. They will be able to recognize the signs and respond appropriately to alert the individual.

P.O.T.S. & Syncope

These medical alert dogs recognize the physical signs of an episode approaching such as muscle spasms or slowly responding to evnironmental stimuli. They then alert the individual or respond when you become non-responsive to get you help.
